358-bed acute care hospital in Clinton, Maryland.

The clinical dietitian plans, directs, and provides nutritional care to patients, conducts nutrition assessments, screening, and diet consults. Supervises the work of the diet office and diet clerks. Involved with Performance Improvement, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, and other interdisciplinary committees. The dietitian serves as a member of the management team.

Required Education and Experience:
Must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed in the state of Maryland.
At least 2 years of related experience preferred.

Job Description:
Principal Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a research program that provides strong leadership in the fields of nutrition and health promotion.

• Engage in fund-raising by identifying and pursuing funding opportunities to support the Center’s research program.

• Keep the ILSI RF Board of Trustees, and ILSI Research Foundation Executive Director informed concerning the Center’s programs, including both opportunities and challenges, seeking input and approvals, as necessary.

• Provide direction and oversight to the existing Physical Activity and Nutrition (PAN) program, including managing the staff on a day-to-day basis.

• Facilitate communication between the Center and other ILSI entities and work closely and collaboratively with senior staff of other ILSI entities to achieve common objectives.

Required Education and Experience:
Education/Experience: Ph.D. in nutrition or closely related area of human biology, e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, etc. with 5 + years of research and program implementation experience in nutrition. Demonstrated ability to create a program vision with short and long-term objectives, generate funding and partnerships to carry-out the vision, and to carry the individual components of the program to completion. Documented entrepreneurial experience and success in attracting funding for similar programs.

Specialized Knowledge: Reputation for delivering high-quality science and being an effective collaborator with scientists from academia, government and industry. Exposure to international nutrition issues desired.
